PCI-E Graphics Cards for Workstation and Server

Whether CAD, 3D visualization, or a workplace with multiple monitors: used NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards deliver professional performance at a significantly lower price than new hardware. We have tested and refurbished every card, they are in stock, and they ship free of charge within Germany.

Workstation Graphics Instead of Consumer Hardware

Powerful graphics processors have long been a fixed part of IT in many companies. In design offices, agencies, and development departments, they determine how smoothly large models run in the viewport and how quickly visualizations are finished. Our range in this category focuses on refurbished NVIDIA Quadro cards that were developed for exactly these tasks. Anyone who uses used graphics cards of this class gets proven professional technology at a price that makes even larger equipment projects economical.

What Used Quadro Graphics Cards Are Made For

A workstation GPU accelerates compute-intensive applications such as CAD design, 3D modeling, rendering, video editing, and simulations. The most important difference from consumer cards lies in the drivers, because Quadro drivers are certified for numerous professional programs. Display quality and stability therefore remain reliable even with large projects. Some models additionally offer ECC graphics memory, which detects and corrects memory errors, such as the Quadro M5000. The Quadro RTX 4000 also adds RT and Tensor cores, which accelerate real-time ray tracing and AI-assisted functions in compatible software. Used graphics cards with this architecture are therefore also suitable for modern visualization workflows.

Parallel Computing and Virtualization

Via the CUDA interface, the compute units of a Quadro card can also be used for parallel calculations, for example for simulations, data analysis, or smaller machine learning projects. For continuous operation in the data center, for pure compute tasks, or for virtual desktops with GPU acceleration, there are dedicated accelerator cards instead. These often have no monitor connectors and use passive cooling that relies on the airflow in the server housing. You will find suitable models in our GPU Accelerator category.

How to Find the Right Used Graphics Card

Graphics Memory and Compute Units

Graphics memory determines how large the models, textures, and scenes are that the card can process without falling back on the slower system memory. In our range, the span runs from 512 MB for pure office workstations up to 16 GB on the Quadro P5000 for extensive assemblies and demanding rendering. For many 3D CAD applications, 4 to 8 GB is a good starting point. The number of CUDA cores, in turn, influences how fast parallel calculations run. Mid-range used graphics cards such as the P2200 already offer a balanced ratio of performance, memory, and power consumption here.

Interface and Slot

Nearly every card in this category is designed as a PCIe x16 graphics card and requires a correspondingly long slot on the motherboard. Most models, from the P400 to the RTX 4000, work as PCIe 3.0 graphics cards; older cards such as the Quadro K2000 still use PCIe 2.0. Since the standard is backward compatible, a graphics card with PCIe 3.0 x16 also runs in a PCIe 4.0 slot, then with the bandwidth of its own generation. In the CAD environment this difference hardly matters, because the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0 x16 is rarely the limiting factor for workstation graphics. Used graphics cards can therefore generally also be reused in newer systems.

Form Factor, Power Supply, and Cooling

Before buying, it is worth taking a look inside the chassis. Cards such as the Quadro P4000 or RTX 4000 occupy only one slot despite their performance, while the P5000 and M5000 take up two slots in width. The slot itself delivers up to 75 watts; beyond that, an additional power connector is required and the power supply of the workstation must offer sufficient reserves. The Quadro cards are actively cooled and therefore designed for operation in tower and desktop chassis. We also supply some models with a board extension that additionally stabilizes the card in large towers.

Connectors and Monitors

Most cards drive up to four monitors, the compact P400 up to three. Depending on the model, the connection is via DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, or DVI. The RTX 4000 additionally offers a USB-C port and supports resolutions up to 8K. Older monitors with HDMI or DVI inputs can usually be connected via adapters. For a classic office workplace with two screens, the economical NVS 310 is sufficient, while used graphics cards such as the P2200 already drive four high-resolution displays.

OEM Cards from Dell, HP, and Lenovo

On the product page of every PCI Express graphics card, you will find, in addition to slot, power consumption, and connectors, the systems the card is intended for, such as Dell Precision 5820, 7820, and 7920 or workstations of the HP Z series. If you want to upgrade Dell workstations, HP workstations, or Lenovo ThinkStations, you will quickly find a suitable used graphics card this way. For uniformly equipped workplaces it is worth buying used graphics cards of the same model in larger quantities, since we have many cards in stock several times over. If your system is not listed, get in touch, and we will gladly check compatibility for you.

Your Benefits with Used Graphics Cards with Warranty from GEKKO

Anyone who wants to buy used graphics cards values reliability above all. That is why we test, clean, and check every PCIe graphics card before it moves into our warehouse in Berlin. All items come with a 12-month warranty. Buying a refurbished graphics card instead of a new one also conserves budget and resources, because high-quality hardware stays in use longer and does not have to be produced anew.

Since all items on offer are in stock, orders received on weekdays by 12 noon usually leave our premises the same day via DHL, and with express shipping even until 3 p.m. We cover standard shipping within Germany free of charge. This makes it possible to procure used graphics cards at short notice, whether as a replacement for a failed card or for a planned upgrade.

FAQ

Are used graphics cards suitable for professional continuous operation?

Yes, professional cards such as the NVIDIA Quadro are designed for long runtimes under load. Every card goes through our technical inspection before sale, and we give a 12-month warranty on all items. This way you get used graphics cards that can be put straight into productive systems.

Which used graphics card is enough for 2D CAD and office applications?

For 2D drawings, office work, and multiple monitors, entry-level models such as the Quadro P400 or P620 with 2 GB of graphics memory are sufficient. If you regularly design in 3D or work on larger assemblies, you should choose models such as the Quadro P2200 or P4000 with 5 to 8 GB.

Does a used graphics card need an additional power connector?

It depends on the model. Cards such as the Quadro P620, P1000, or P2200 are powered entirely via the slot. More powerful models such as the P4000, RTX 4000, or P5000 require a six-pin or eight-pin connector on the power supply. You will find the exact power consumption in the technical data of the respective card.

Which graphics card fits into a compact workstation?

Cards in a flat form factor, commonly called low profile, are suitable for compact chassis. In our shop you can recognize these variants by the abbreviation LP in the item name, for example with the P620 or the NVS 310.

Can a graphics card from Dell also be used in an HP workstation?

In many cases, yes, because the cards are based on the same NVIDIA graphics processors. A free x16 slot, sufficient space in the chassis, and a suitable power supply are decisive. On the product pages we list compatible systems; we are happy to check further compatibilities for you.
